AGK welcomes indictment against MP Sigma for attacks on journalists in the north

The association of Kosovo Journalists (AGK) has welcomed the indictment filed by the Special Prosecutor against Kosovo Parliament MP Slavko Simi, and another person with the US initials for attacks on journalists on 16 June 2023 in Leposaviq.

According to the prosecution, the hostiles are charged with criminal work “The participation in the crowd committing criminal acts and hooliganism”, after allegedly participating in a crowd of more than eight people who attacked journalists with shocks, fists, kicks and strong means like bricks and concrete, causing serious bodily injuries for two of them.

The defendant U.V. Charged for criminal acts “Attack” and “The participation in the crowd that committed criminal acts and hooliganism”, for direct involvement in the use of force against journalists.

The AGK emphasises that it will closely follow the judicial process and insists that justice act without delay. “Association commits that all attacks on journalists in May and June 2023 receive sentences deserved by the justice system”, the AGK's response said.
