Former U.S. State Department adviser and US foreign policy expert Vali Nasr has said Iran has no choice but to retaliate against Israeli attacks.
Nasr said that if the Israeli attack was a tactic to bring Iran to the negotiating table, according to him, it is impossible to function.
“Trump misunderstood Iran, and now instead of negotiations, we will see the use of weapons as a negotiation tool”.
“If it does not respond, it will lose all credibility, it will be viewed as weak and the Israelites will not stop”, Nasr said, writes CNNPeriscope broadcast.
Washington has long sought to limit Tehran's nuclear capacity, with recent negotiations in Rome last month ending without any agreement.
A sixth round of US-Iran talks was scheduled for Sunday in Oman, but it is not clear whether it will be held. /Periscope
