Kosovo Commission Association Chairman (AKK), Sanan Ibrahmi, has raised concern about a deep financial crisis that is hitting local power.
The Kosovo Communists' “Association raises the alarm for a deep financial crisis that is hitting local government, as a result of court decisions stemming mainly from collective contracts, an act imposed by the central level, but which is financially destroying the local level”, he has said of Periscope.
Ibrahimi has shown that 46m euros have been taken so far, including the municipalities like Pristina, Ferizaj, Prizren, Decanin, etc.
Until today, more than 46m euros have been taken to municipalities as a result of judicial decisions, with the overwhelming majority of which go towards implementing a collective contract that has neither been negotiated nor financed by municipalities themselves. This is a serious institutional and financial injustice that is paralyzing local development”.
The most damaged municipalities from this situation are Pristina over 6.2m euros; Ferizaj c. 6m euros; Prizren over 4.8m euros; Decani 3.2m euros; Mitrovica ʹ2.4m euros; Peja, Rahoveci, Vitita over 2m euros each; Braveria over 1.7m euros; Skenderaj and Suhareka over 1m euros
Ferizaj's sub-communal is almost blocked by the film control, being unable to make even basic payments. If this trend continues, many capital projects will remain unmet, and citizens will remain without vital services, he said.
Abraham accused the Government of keeping the contract in check.
The government is silent, although it knows this situation is a consequence of the central level, not the local one and caused by it itself. He has been refusing for years to face the problem of collective contract, unjustly affording the municipalities an unaffordable burden”, he has been posing.
He has said that the Association of Kosovo municipalities once again requires urgency.
“Create an emergency fund from the central level for covering debts that are not produced by municipalities; radical change of government approach to local government and a serious review of collective contract; Further failure is not only political responsibility, but it is direct damage to the citizens of this country”, Ibrahim said. /Periscopi/
