The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has hosted today's meeting of Norway's special representative for the Western Balkans, Eirik Nestés Mathissen, with whom they have discussed the urgent need to form the country's functional institutions.
Both have also discussed the challenges facing the country and political developments.
President Abdixhiku clearly expressed LDK's positions in relation to the current situation, stressing the LDK's proposal and the need for a Unity Government as the best solution for exiting the crisis and ensuring institutional and political stability in the country, said the post.
In turn, it becomes known that during the meeting, the first LDK and Norwegian representative have also discussed EU sanctions on Kosovo, where Abdixhiku has expressed his concern about the negative impact of these measures on Kosovo's European path.
The meeting also discussed sanctions imposed by the European Union on Kosovo. Mayor Abdixhiku expressed his concern about the negative impact of these measures on the country's European path and stressed that it is time for the EU to review and lift sanctions against Kosovo as a necessary step to reinforce the Euro-Atlantic orientation of the Republic of Kosovo, it said.
