A 16-year-old of Albanian origin has been seriously injured following a knife attack Saturday evening in Vicenza, in an area near the city's historic centre.
The young man was stabbed in the chest and currently laid down in the local hospital's intensive pediatric care unit. Though in serious condition, his life is not in danger, health authorities suggest.
According to preliminary information from the order forces, the suspected author is another young, perhaps co-agent of the victim.
The motives of the event remain unclear, but one of the tracks being investigated is the attempted robbery that ended in violence. Investigators, however, do not rule out any other reasons after the aggression.
Random Witnesses in the area sounded the alarm as the Suem 118 Emergency Service ambulance arrived immediately at the scene and gave the injured first aid before transporting it to the hospital.
La Repubblica writes that the event took place on Via Cattaneo Street, a populated and highly frequent area because of the presence of a large public parking lot. Police are working on the author's identification, and it is expected that statements of the injured teenager, as soon as his condition improves, will help clear up the event. /ToopChannel/ Periscopi/
