Without ZRE and AKK, LDK holds meeting with deputies and business representatives

The Democratic League of Kosovo has announced that it has been held meeting with representatives of the business community and KESCO to discuss the decision by the Energy Regulatory Office of about 1,000 businesses from the regulated electricity market. At this meeting, called by the LDK, ZRE has been invited [...]
At this meeting, called by the LDK, ZRE and the Competition Authority have also been invited, which have refused participation.
“In this guest meeting have also been ZRE and Competition Authority (AKK), the two institutions that report with the Law, unfortunately did not participate, avoiding facing MPs and the public for decisions with serious economic consequences for the country. Recall that ZRE and AKK avoided the Parliament today, but only two days ago ZRERE attended a meeting with LVV deputies, but not in the Assembly but in the Government building. This is not professionalism, this is servilism. Institutions can't escape responsibility by fleeing from the country”.
“The meeting, however, was kept and addressed issues such as: the socioeconomic consequences of the decision to remove businesses from the regulated market, the lack of real competition in the so-called open market “”, were requested transparency and responsibility for the interpretation of legal provisions, especially Article 37. paragraph 2. The Law on Electric Energy, under which KESCO is being excluded about 1,300 companies from the universal service”, the report said.
The LDK also indicated that business representatives have expressed their concerns, especially for the production companies, which, as reported in the announcement, will be unable to make a deal, “because the rise in the price of energy increases the cost of production by making these companies uncompetitive in the domestic and international markets, while businessmen will increase the prices which the country's citizens eventually pay<1>
“paying has closed with public request to Z The RRE and those today managing Kosovo's budget to find a solution, cancel or postpone for a year the decision to remove businesses from the regulated market, until ensuring a functioning and competitive market, in accordance with the law and in the interest of the national economy”, is said further in the LDK announcement. /Periscope/
