“Discused for an exchange of 1,000 per 1,000. We are also working on other modalities in this exchange,” has declared Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umedrov, reports CNN, broadcast Periscope.
Umerov has also said that a ceasefire and the possibility of a direct meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also been discussed during the meeting.
Meanwhile, shortly after the end of the talks in Istanbul, President Zelensky made a call with US President Donald Trump and the leaders of Britain, France, Germany and Poland, within a European meeting held in Albania.
And after the call, Zelensky said that “Ukraine is ready to take the fastest possible steps to achieve true peace”, but stressed that “pression on Russia must continue”.
The Russian state must face severe sanctions if it refuses a full and unconditional ceasefire. We thank all those who assist Ukraine in this regard,”, he said on social networks.
