What did the SPAK reveal?
According to the SPAK investigations have uncovered sufficient evidence creating reasonable doubts about an organised corruption scheme. According to the indictment, public funds that have been distributed by Tirana City Hall have been passed to Veliaj's wife and her family circle through the OJFs and its controlled societies.
The investigation also found a total of 95,350 euros and 14,900 euros USD hidden in a vault of a society administered by Ayla Xoxa.
This has led to the appointment of property security measures, including the sequentisation of a gathering and several bank accounts on behalf of the company of Ayla Xoxa, which contains more than 8692,000 euros.
In addition, it has been concluded that persons involved in the issue, including the businessmen mentioned, have provided irregular benefits to the mayor and his wife, obtaining public funds and construction permits in exchange for suspicious services and hidden transactions.
