Another week filled with the failure and scandals of Kurti Government: Three Events That Marked the Week

In violation, scandals and criticism from international organisations are some of the events that are leaving a bitter taste of Kosovo's image in the world's eyes with the government's actions in resignation. Below the Periscope brings you the main events that marked him this week. As Vetevendosje Chairman Albin Kurti tried to drop “=x1> [...]
As Vetevendosje Chairman Albin Kurti tried to throw “hi” in front of other party leaders, it didn't work. Once the last session began (9th), Kurti made a move trying to vote on him with a vote hiding for their candidate for the chief parliament, Albulen Haxhiun.
After verifying that there is quorum, the head of the session, Avni Dehari, demanded that the assembly's mayor vote take place secretly but did not get the green light.
In order to pave the way for unlocking the process, I consider that the proper form that can pave the way for the building of the Parliament is secretly voting with physical research”, Dehari said.
This proposal was not welcomed by other parties P DK, LDK, AAK and NISMA, which neither took part in the vote.
This action of Vetevendosje, MPs, analysts, journalists praised the regulation as violations.

In the meantime, this is not the only spark of this week. Periscop published the Food and Veterinary Agency scandal. AUV caused damage to the state of nearly 1m euros through the signing of a contract to eliminate ticks, carriers of a deadly disease. This agency, which is under the Ministry led by Faton Peci, made a big mistake with the drug it bought. Instead of the medicine against the ticks, AUV bought medicine for the lice.
The scandal deepened even more after the economic operators who won the tender bought only 330 litres of lice medicine, worth about 14,000 euros, while the tender totaled nearly 1m euros. With this amount, according to Periscopi's internal audience report, operators have deceived the state for more than sevenfold from the real price, suspecting the contract is based on speculous prices, which are prohibited from the Public Procure Law.
While today, Reporters Without Borders' Reporters' Reporting of Press Freedom was released, where Kosovo has scored its biggest decline in the past 15 years, ranking 99th in the world from 180 states.
Among the many critical points, it notes that journalists are falsely accused as Serbian collaborators.
)Although the media has been successful in keeping politicians responsible, journalists have continued to be the target of political attacks. The inefficient media regulator, the Independent Media Commission (KPM), was subject to a law reform that risks even more hindering this body's independence. Before the 2025 elections, several media outlets were targeted to be boycotted by the government, which also threatened public broadcaster RTK's independence. Although journalists enjoy society's trust, independent media and investigative journalists are very often targeted by false insults and news in social media. They are falsely accused as “enemy collaborators”, rhetoric used by political and religious groups”It says the report in the main section.
