United States President Donald Trump has left open the possibility of reaching a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, but has warned that the United States will not continue mediation if the parties show no real commitment to peace.
During an interview with the NBC's Press” show, Trump said he is actively involved in mediating efforts and has had direct contacts with both sides, including Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky. According to him, the US administration has presented a clear plan for a 30-day ceasefire that would serve as the basis for deeper talks, while Ukraine would provide support for energy reconstruction and territorial protection, while Russia would benefit possible sanctions if it halts attacks on civilian infrastructure.

He added that he would not allow the US to spend indefinitely resources on a war that is not having clear vision of peace: “We are paying three times as much as Europe for a war they have in their backyard. This is absurd. ”
