US President Donald Trump has launched efforts to help achieve a ceasefire in the war between Russia and Ukraine, conducting two key telephone conversations.
According to CNN, Trump has first talked with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, while soon expected to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin as well.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavet said Trump is “shaken and disappointed with both sides of the conflict” and aims to reach a ceasefire to end the war.
Vice President JD Vance added that Trump will ask Putin if it is “serio” for peace, stressing that the US will not waste time with efforts that do not bring solutions./Periscopi/
