India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire.
India is maintaining the deal, but its army remains “vigiant” and “prepared to start what is needed to protect our nation”, officials said.
Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said the country “has always tried for peace and security in the region”, reports BBC, broadcast Periscope.
US President Donald Trump said the ceasefire is the result of a long-term <x0-night negotiations mediated by the United States”.
This week, India hit targets in Pakistan and Pakistan's Pakistani-run Kashmir in response to a deadly militant attack on Indian tourists in Pahalgam last month, Islamabad denies involvement.
