The report says that the accident was caused by a flood of water from one of the waterfills that had kidnapped a vehicle and was suspected to have a missing person with it.
“A team from the Kosovo Mountain Peace Research Service, in co-operation with Albania's Alpin and Speleological Rescue Service, headed immediately towards the scene. After the initial inspection of the area, a careful search was realised, but due to the high risks on the ground, all further procedures were suspended”, the ShKKMK report said.
In turn, the search for ground assessment continued on the date 04.05.2025, where it was found that any other operational action posed serious risks to the engaged teams.
For this reason, the decision was made to suspend the operation until second information from state structures.
“We are in continued co-ordination and direct contact with all state authorities to assess the conditions and enable the operation to continue at the first appropriate moment”.
