Two suspected fraud and counterfeiting in Gjilan, 13 injured citizens arrested

The Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK), respectively, the Regional Unit for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption in Gjilan ( NJRKEK-Gjilan, in co-operation with the Founding Prosecutor in Gjilan, has conducted several-month investigations, which have resulted in the identification and detention of two suspects:

According to the police communiqué, suspects, through false and fraudulent appearance, have managed to deceive citizens of the Gjilan region by urging them to sign contracts and pay advance fees, without taking the promised products afterwards.
During the investigation, 13 victims have been identified in the municipalities of Gjilan and Vitit, who have entered contractual obligations worth 24,607.00 euros, while nine of them have paid advance in many of the 3,494.00 euros, for products and gifts never delivered.
The prosecution has issued a decision to detain suspects in 20.05.2025, following their interview with the lawyer's presence on official duty.
Kosovo police appeal citizens to be careful about fraudulent presentations and to report similar cases to competent bodies. /Periscope/
