Hysri Selimi, a known name for Kosovo authorities for his previous involvement in terrorist activities, has been arrested today under suspicion of committing spying. Selimi's arrest is the result of a broad and deepening investigation by the Special Prosecutor, which included separate investigative measures implemented for several months.
The operation has been carried out in close co-operation with the Kosovo Police, the Directorate for Investigation of Organised Crime and Crime, as well as with the assistance of the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence (AKI) respectively.
Two locations on Kosovo territory have been raided during this operation, at the order of the competent court, reports Paparacy, broadcast Periscope.
Material evidence linked to suspected activities, including electronic communication devices, may have been used to transmit confidential information.
Selimi has been detained for 48 hours with the prosecutor's decision on the case, while investigations are expected to deepen to fully clarify the circumstances and discover any possible involvement of other parties.
Hysri Selimi's name is not unknown to the justice system in Kosovo, Paparaci learns from his sources within justice bodies.
By the date 23.11.2015 with preliminary preparations, along with the family, had issued the territory of the Republic of Kosovo with the destination of Syria, to join I SIS.
According to the indictment filed by the Prosecution at the time, Selimi was engaged in the Bureau of InjIS' wounded soldiers, for which he was paid regularly by this organisation, with the amount of money of 100 USD a month.
He was repatriated to Kosovo on May 28th, 2022, where he then faced trial for what he was convicted of.
Already, only a few years after his return from conflict zones, Hysri Selimi faces new and serious charges, this time for spying. /Periscope
