NP “US in Pristina's Municipal Framework environments, held the public presentation of “Master plan to expand the heating network” under the “project Solar 4Kosovo II”.
NP Chief Executive Chief “Termocos” U.S.A., Mr. Genus Osmani thanked the expert team for its unspoiled work in drafting this master plan. He stressed the importance of this project for citizens and expressed satisfaction with the keen interest of those present. Chief Osmani recalled that expanding the heating network in 6 new neighbourhoods with about 38,000 beneficiaries was one of the last pledges they had made with Pristina's chairman Rama to citizens.
Pristina municipality chairman Mr. Progress Rama, praised the project's current progress and highlighted its importance to the green transition.
The “Project will mainly help promote the quality of green transition by contributing to easing climate change. The new power plant and extended central heating network will reduce CO2 emissions related to heating, improve air quality and integrate renewable energy supply into Pristina's central heating system”, Mayor Rama said. He pointed out that this project will serve neighborhood citizens, who are not connected to the central heating system, which are currently exploiting much more expensive and environmentally harmful alternatives.
Speaking of neighbourhoods, which will expand the heating network based on this master plan, President Rama said that other neighbourhoods such as “The Tower of Braves”, “Clovica” and the coverage of the entire Pristina divided into 11 areas will be considered in the particular plan, which will be presented in June.
International expert at consultant company “ICS”, Mr. Felix Eckert presented the master's technical details to the plan. He explained that, along the process of drafting this master plan, 17 neighbourhoods have been treated with 1,926 high potential pollution buildings of 116.216 tonnes of CO2. Finally, behind the ranking criteria and key factors have been selected 6 neighbourhoods with 199 buildings.
According to master plan, the heating network will expand in neighbourhoods: “Greed”, “Tophane”, two neighborhood areas “Calabria”, Pristina's old city section and a section of the neighborhood “Migrants' malalla”.
Among other things, he has presented additional details of the <x0 project. Solar 4Kosovo II”, which through pure solar energy of 44 GWh per year, with solar collectors of 63 thousand m/2 and a seasonal heat tank of 380 thousand m/3, will supply heating to about 38,000 new consumers.
In the final part of this presentation, their questions have been posed to many present citizens who have expressed deep interest and gratitude for the opportunity that is being offered to address the heating system.
