Saved the life of the 5-year-old at QKUKUK, consumed a dissolving seed that blocked his breathing

Kosovo's Clinical and University Centre's Otoronolaryology Clinic has successfully saved the life of a 5-year-old child who had aspired to a relaxed sunflower seed that had blocked major respiratory routes. Thanks to ORL's rapid reaction, led by Dr. Flamur Ukaj, otorinolaringologist, and immediate cooperation with the care team Anesthesiology, by Dr. Valmir Idrizi, emergency intervention (trakobronoscope regid) was successfully realised, and the foreign body left and the child's life was saved.
The ORL Hall instrument and specialists from ORL and Anrsthesiology also took part in the team.
The child is stable and has been released to the house without complications.
QKUUK appeals to all parents to have increased care for small children, avoiding contact with foreign bodies such as seeds, peanuts, small play parts, and so on.
