From the article, published exclusively in Reuters, Russian President Vladimir Putin's conditions to end the war in Ukraine reportedly include a demand that Western leaders pledge in writing to stop NATO's eastward enlargement and lift part of sanctions against Russia.
“Putin is ready for peace, but not at any price”, has said one of the sources, requesting anonymity.
While all three Russian sources have indicated Putin requires a guarantee of “signed” by key Western powers not to expand the US-led alliance, NATO, eastward, which means the exclusion of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and other former Soviet countries from membership.
