Reported for kidnapping in Pristina, police find out it was determined to take advantage of family money

“Family members today have denounced to the police that since 30,04,2025, the victim has been kidnapped by strangers and has not since had direct contact with him. According to the indictment, the alleged kidnappers, through messages sent, have demanded a certain amount of money in exchange for the victim's welfare. Immediately after the indictment, specialist from the unit of general investigation in Pristina, in co-ordination with the state prosecutor has begun the investigative action aimed at lighting the circumstances of the” event, Kosovo Police have said.
The victim was found in a single car in Pristina, where it was discovered that he himself had sent threatening messages to the family in order to secure a certain amount of money for personal gain.
“As a result of intensive investigation and co-ordinated police actions, around 13: 00 p.m., the whereabouts of the alleged victim, male, about 45, which was found alone in a car on “Brothers Fazliu” in Pristina. The same has been associated with an interview at the police station, and after the investigation has been conducted, it has been found that it is not the criminal act of kidnapping. In fact, the person in question had personally sent threatening messages to the family in order to provide a certain amount of money for personal gain”, police have said.
Kosovo police, in full co-ordination with the state prosecutor, are continuing to take all investigative actions for the full whiteening of the case and for the person's legal prosecution in question, for fraudulent actions and for the concern caused by family and legislation institutions.
Kosovo police appeal to citizens to avoid fraudulent statements and actions, which not only misuse institutional resources but also cause unnecessary panic.
