Rama for Austrian television: Three new government plans EU, EU and EU

EU membership a historic opportunity. So stated Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, in an interview with Christian Wehrschutz, renowned Austrian television journalist ORF.

He said that to reach membership, Albania worked hard and prepared well.

Among other things, he said the geopolitical context in Europe has unfortunately changed “with Putin's help”.

According to Rama, it is necessary for the EU to strengthen its ranks and accept new members in order to be complete. But that, he says, relates to the ability and readiness of candidate countries to be at the required level.

“The EU may exert political pressure to accelerate the approach process, but will not accept anyone who does not meet all criteria”, Albania's prime minister said.

As for the situation in the Western Balkans, Rama agrees that the “situation has never been better than today”.

“The process of approaching the EU is helping a lot in solving the specific problems”, he said.

Finally, when asked what his three most important plans are for the next four years, Rama said: “European Union, European Union, European Union”. /Periscopi/
