The Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published data from Kosovo's external goods trade that points to a 15.2% trade deficit in April 2025, in proportion to the same period in 2024.
The deficit value according to these data is 492,3m euros, compared to the deficit of 427.5m euros in 2024.
According to the AKS export covers import by 13.0%.
“Export of goods in April 2025 was worth 73.8m euros, while import 566.2m euros, which is an increase of 0.9% for export, as well as an increase of 13.1% for import, compared to the same period of 2024”, it is said in the AS's announcement.
According to key export groups data: 23.1% make up basic metals and articles; 13.9% make up plastics, tires and articles from them; 11.8% make up prepared foods; 10.1% make up different products produced; drinks and tobacco; 6.8% make up minerals.
While according to key import groups data: 12.9% make up machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 12.8% make up mineral products; 12.6% make up the means of transport; 11.1% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 9.1% make up basic metals and articles from them, etc.
The KSF has also presented Kosovo's export and imports data to EU countries.
Kosovo's <x0ports in EU countries reached 25.3m euros, or about 34.2% of total exports, with an increase of 1.2%. The main partners for export of goods to the EU were: Germany (12.0%), the Netherlands (3.0%), Italy (2.8), etc. Kosovo imports from EU countries stood at around 237.6m euros, or 42.0% of total imports, with a drop of (2.4%). Imports with high turnout were from: Germany (13.9%), Italy (4.6%), Poland (3.8%), etc.”, says the report.
Also presented are the data for Kosovo exports and imports with CEFTA countries.
Kosovo's <x0ports with CEFTA countries reached 33.9m euros, or 45.9% of total exports, with a 4.1% increase. Key export partners from CEFTA countries were: Northern Macedonia (15.9%), Albania (15.5%), Montenegro (7.0%), Serbia (6.0%). Imports from CEFTA countries reached 74.3m euros, or 13.1% of total imports, with an increase of 13.5%. The countries with the highest share in import was: Northern Macedonia (4.6%), Albania (3.8%), Serbia (3.4%)”, says the report.
While the value of exports and imports of Kosovo with other countries of the world totals 14.6m euros, or 19.8%.
“As the most important partners from these countries for export were: Switzerland (9.5%) and the US (2.8%)”, the AKS report said.
Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world reached 254.3m euros, or 44.9%.
