According to foreign media, during talks on the Pope's inaugural Mesha margins, Zelensky briefed Vance for “unrealistic constitutions” presented by Russia during peace talks in Istanbul, his office said.
Yesterday, it was reported that among other demands, Russia determined that five Ukrainian regions be granted international recognition as part of Russia under any agreement, writes A2 CNN.
This, and Moscow's low-level delegation, showed “the loss of Russia's intention to end the fight”, the president's office said.
Zelenskyy also told Vance how “Russia violated the ceasefire that he himself proposed”.
Voldymyr Zelensky stressed that all of this shows Moscow's lack of intention to end the war, and for that very reason, pressure is needed to force Russia to agree to a full and unconditional ceasefire.
The president also posted his meeting confession to the social network CHAX. /Periscope/
