In December 2023, Brown used a fire extinguisher to extinguish Hanuka's candles in the Polish parliament in protest against celebrating Jewish festivals in state institutions. Poland's state prosecutor had demanded the removal of Brown's Europarliamentary immunity following the June 2024 elections, in which he was re-elected as representative to the European Parliament.
Brown faces several criminal charges, including insults by a religious group in the Polish parliament, interruptions of a Holocaust lecture at the German History Institute in protest of claims to include Poles, as well as the removal and disposal of a Christmas tree decorated with signs of LGB by a court in Krakov.
