PDK: With political blockades and price hikes, Albin Kurti is making life difficult for citizens and taking jobs out

Democratic Party of Kosovo chief member (PDK), Arben Mustafa, has been alarmed to speed up prices of basic products, in this period when the Vetevendosje Movement has decided to block the Parliament, while keeping government power occupied. Mustafa, at a media conference, said April data points to the dual increase in basic product prices, which affect each family.
April data shows the dual increase in basic product prices, which affect every citizen, every family. Prices of products such as meat, oils and fats, trees, as well as coffee and tea rose from 10 to 16.4%. On the other hand, workers, pensioners and beneficiaries of different social categories continue to have no increase in revenues. So, they continue to be abandoned at a time when living expenses are becoming more affordable each day, Mustafa stressed.
He added that the country's economy is continuing to face a further deterioration of the trade deficit as a result of the decline in exports and increased imports, stressing that in just the first three months of this year, this deficit reached 1.4 billion euros.
According to Mustafa, this unfavourable business position for businesses is expected to deepen further through measures to prevent domestic power supply.
The decision to extract businesses into the open energy supply market, without any preparation measure and without ensuring that there will be real competition in the energy supply market, is expected to increase the energy supply spending by around 260% for businesses that have over 50 workers or over 10m euros in annual circulation. Such a huge cost of the energy bill for some businesses could mean business closure, while for another major stake in the competitive position, making exports of Kosovo companies much more expensive and, as a result, even less than they are currently. Less exports from Kosovo companies mean fewer jobs in Kosovo, less income for Kosovo families and less taxes paid for the state of Kosovo. In a word, this government is seriously hitting the private sector and is hitting the main employment and revenue generation stake for Kosovo families”, he said.
Mustafa considers that Albin Kurti has no sensitivity either to this open threat that is threatening Kosovo's economy, so he also sees no urgency of opening the way to unblocking the country's institutions.
Every extra day of this blockade is burdening the present and future of the state of Kosovo, as well as the quality of the life of every family in Kosovo. Therefore, even today we call on the party that has come first in the election to assume responsibility for unblocking the constitution's constitutionalisation process and to pave the way for creating a responsible government that works for a better life for Kosovo citizens”, Mustafa concluded. /Periscopi/
