Osman's invitation to parties reacts KDI: A step towards unlocking political stalemate

The Kosovo Democratic Institute through a communique for the media has announced that 4 welcomes the country's president's invitation, Vjosa Osmani, for consultative meetings with political parties on May 15th.

KDI welcomes the invitation of the country's president, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriou, for consultative meetings with political parties on May 15th, as an appropriate step towards unlocking the current stalemate and meeting its obligation to ensure the constitutional functioning of institutions.

KDI recalls that it called for the company of such an initiative more than two weeks ago, stressing that the country's repeated sessions, without political agreement and no real progress, are damaging and unable to forge institutions.

At this critical stage, when the country is in an institutional stalemate that is undermining democratic functioning, we encourage all political parties to participate in this meeting, so that it can serve as an opportunity to promote political and interparty dialogue as the necessity of overcoming the current situation.

At the same time, we ask political parties that participation in this meeting be, not symbolic, but an expression of a concrete responsibility to serve the functioning of institutions.
