On the 26th anniversary of Agan's murder, LDK chairman has said he was one of the basic figures of the golden generation of Albanian intellectuals at the end of the 20th century.
On May 6th 1999, Kosovo lost one of its major activists, Prof. Fehmi Agan, the wise intellectual, visionary politicologist, sociologist, and staunch native. His murder by Serb forces was a grave wound to Kosovo's ideal for freedom and independence, an attack on the mind, wisdom and one of the ideological pillars of our national movement. Prof. Agan was one of the basic figures of the golden generation of Albanian intellectuals at the end of the 20th century. As a prominent Pristina University professor, he trained and formed generations of students who later became leaders of the movement for freedom and independence. As a faint word of thought, he conveyed through his speeches the feeling of pride and resistance, sowing awareness of freedom in the minds of Albanian youth”, has praised Obadiah.
He has praised Agan's role even as LDK official.
“He was also among the founders of the Democratic League of Kosovo, close associate of historic President Ibrahim Rugova and LDK deputy chairman, while remaining one of the main figures in drafting the peaceful strategy of Kosovo resistance, becoming the voice of reason and wisdom in the darkest days for the country. His murder was an attempt to hit Kosovo's political and intellectual axis. Today, on the 26th anniversary of his murder, we remember his great figure and work. The legacy he left behind is a permanent guide on our journey to build a Kosovo with a better future, fair and worthy of the sacrifice of its best sons. Glory to life and to the work of Prof. Fehmi Agani!
