Lodola stressed that the Western Balkans remain one of the Alliance's top priorities, reflecting NATO's full support for Kosovo's (Kosovo) dialogue under the European Union's mediation.
To move forward, it is important that Belgrade and Pristina implement existing agreements. Both sides should show flexibility in making necessary compromises. This is the key to sustainable security in Kosovo, for the benefit of all communities and for regional stability”, Lodola stressed for Kosovo-Online.
He considered dialogue the only framework for resolving open political issues with full respect for community rights.
Two years after the outbreak of tensions in the country's north, which manifested violent clashes in Zvecan between Serb protesters, the Kosovo Police and KFOR members, Lodola also recalled the serious terrorist attack on Banjska, calling it necessary to bring the responsible to justice.
“We continue to call on Serbian authorities to ensure that those responsible for violence in Kosovo in 2023 to be brought to justice”, he added, recalling that following the escalation of tensions, the alliance has deployed 1,000 additional forces in Kosovo -- the largest military presence in the last ten years. /Periscope/
