From April to mid-May, the Parliament's sworn deputies have held a total of 18 attempts with only several-minute sessions for restitution, but without any concrete results.
Despite this unusual situation and lack of parliamentary functionality, MPs continue to receive a full monthly salary.
According to the Law on Salaries in the Public Sector, an MP's gross monthly salary is approximately 1,859 euros, until June 30th 2025. After that salary date becomes 1,914 euros”, Ehat Miftaraj of the Kosovo Democratic Institute said of the clankosova.
He says parliamentarians even have access to their fixed monthly salary.
” The average is integrated into their fixed monthly salary, where the 8th legislature has made this change”.
” Deputes no longer benefit additional compensation/editation for participation in plenary sessions, including those for constitutionalisation efforts of the Assembly”, Miftaraj adds.
This means that even when sessions are being called every 48 hours, there is no additional payment for participation.
However, MPs continue to receive their salary of nearly 1,859 euros despite 48-hour sessions, just a few minutes.
Otherwise, the next session is held tomorrow at 11:00, on the 19th attempt at the institution. /Periscope/
