Maybe I can travel to the States. I think we'll have a chance to meet face to face. Trumpin”, the Turkish president said.
The statement was made during a conversation with reporters accompanying him on a return flight from Hungary, following a participation in an informal summit of the Organisation of the Turkish States held in Budapest.
In this interview, Erdogan touched on a series of important issues in foreign policy, including the situation in Syria, developments in the Gaza Strip and relations with the US. He welcomed the decision to ease international sanctions on Syria and described it as a positive step towards stability in the region.
Regarding the integration of YPG, the Syrian branch of the terrorist group The PKK, under the new Syrian framework, said Turkey is closely monitoring the situation. “It is essential that the government of Damascus remain focused on this”, he added.
Regarding the war in Gaza, Erdoğan said Israel is being isolated more and more on the global stage because of its actions and noted what he called an increasing “Digration” in Europe against Israeli actions dealt with, although he noted such a change has come late.
“History will hold responsible those who failed the Gaza exam. Turkey has stood firm on the side of human humanity and human dignity and will continue to do so”, he said.
He described the crisis in Gaza as more than a humanitarian disaster, calling it “a test of the sincerity of the international system” in which Western institutions have failed. /Periscope/
