It becomes known that the announcement came during a political event in which Abela raised local and global issues, with a particular focus on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, writes AAHe's following in on Telegrafie.
“We cannot close our eyes to this human tragedy that is deteriorating every day”, Abela said.
He added that the move is a moral responsibility and that Palestine will be recognised after a conference on 20 June.
Otherwise, the prime minister expressed shock at the tragic death of nine children of Palestinian pediatric periodiatre Dr. Ala Al-Najar, when Israeli forces bombed their home in Khan Yunis, seriously wounding her husband doctor and leaving only one of their children alive.
Malta is about to welcome Al-Najar and her family to the country. /Periscope/
