The Lottschemental holiday region in Valais, Switzerland, is threatening a massive - size cliff crash. Thus, the alpine village of Blatten was completely evacuated for security reasons.
About 300 residents were forced to flee their homes within 90 minutes after geologists in Switzerland found that further major rock measures could be cut off from a rock below the Beatschhorn Mountain, almost 4,000m high, writes Bild, the Periscope broadcast.
The mountain had begun to slide since Tuesday last week: a total of about 1.5 million cubic metres of rock had already fallen toward the valley, but most were banned from a rocky pond.
“The rock root is near”, Keystone news agency said on Monday SDA, Matthias Ebener, spokesperson for regional command staff.
