French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a speech from Tirana at the International Forum FII (Initiative Investment), a global platform gathering political leaders and directors of the world's largest corporations for discussing innovation, investment and the future of the world's economy.
Macron called on representatives of the participating states at the forum to invest in Albania, as according to him, the country has a strong leadership and a secure future towards the European Union.
He stressed that this call comes not only because Prime Minister Edi Rama is his friend, but also because with his mandate received, Albania will head towards the EU within two years.
Macron added that this process would be strongly supported by France and Germany.
It's extremely good to have you in Europe. I know you come from different parts of the world, and this is a stable and reliable place. In this world, don't underestimate the powers of such qualities, and I'm so happy you're here. Beyond the jokes I make with Prime Minister Edi Rama, here in Albania you clearly have an important entry point in the Western Balkans, but even wider. Albania is a key point in the Mediterranean and Europe. Therefore, I encourage you to invest in Albania because there is strong leadership. I'm not just talking because he's my friend, but because he's got results. In the next two years, having a clear mandate, Albania will become part of the European Union, and I want to assure you that we, like Europeans, will produce results. We already have a strong lineup between France and Germany and we'll do our best to realise the agenda we've discussed. Please invest in Europe, believe in the strong Europe we are building, because we need your trust and your investments. This will help us realise this ambitious agenda, which is relevant not only for Europeans, but also for other regions, to create as much stability”, Macron told participants at the forum. /Periscope/
