Kosovo police, namely police investigators against economic crimes and corruption, have undertaken an investigative operation in the town of Fushe Kosovo today, where two biochemical analysis labs allegedly operated contrary to the legislation in power were checked.
Investigations have begun following the acceptance of relevant information showing the development of illegal activities in these health subjects, including conducting tests without the presence of personnel licensed under legal requirements. Special investigative measures have also been applied under the investigation, which have enabled collection of material evidence supporting initial doubts.
During the search operation on the ground, in co-operation with the Health Inspectorate, a series of violations of legal provisions have been found, resulting in the closure of the operation of these labs.
Electronic equipment, various documentation, a stamp and other relevant materials have been seized at the scene. Also, two persons (the two lab owners) have been arrested, and the ban has been imposed on them at the orders of the competent Prosecution.
All actions are carried out under the supervision and co-ordination of the Basic Prosecutor in Pristina.
Investigations are under way, and competent institutions will take all necessary actions for the full bleach of the case.
We encourage citizens to be careful in selecting health services and to report any suspicion of illegal activities to relevant authorities./Periscopi/
