Kurt has complained to Loisau about, according to him, lack of verification by investigative journalists of the feasibility of promises made during the election campaign.
“During the discussion, he raised several important issues related to the electoral process, including: the lack of verification by professional journalists of the feasibility of promises given during the election campaign by political party representatives, especially from candidates for prime minister, who risk violating citizens' trust and undermining democracy; the financing campaigns of political parties -- emphasising the need for full transparency of funding sources and contributions received during the campaign; and the implementation of the vote's number of”, the ZKM municipality reported.
During the meeting, Loisau handed Kurti the mission's final report on elections held on February 9th 2025.
Similarly, Kurti has spoken of external interference in the election process. He has cited the spread of disinformations by Russian-based media in Serbia as “RT Balkans” and “Sputnik Srbija”, which he has said has distributed over 60 articles aimed at manipulation of the Serb community in Kosovo.
“These dezinform efforts pose a serious threat to the integrity of elections and the democratic stability of the country”, Kurti has said.
