Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti and Democratic Party of Kosovo chairman Memli Krasniqi are holding a meeting in the Assembly prior to the continuation of the Parliament's constitutional session.
Some images were published when both leaders sat face to face.
Before the meeting, neither Kurti nor Krasniqi spoke to reporters.
Kurti on Wednesday sent invitations to the PDK chairman Memli Krasniqi and LDK chairman Lumir Abdixhiku, who refused to attend.
Krasniqi wrote on Facebook last night that he accepted the invitation “deeply believing that the Republic of Kosovo urgently needs institutional unblockment and the return of regular functioning of the highest legislative institution, as well as to pave the way for constitutional deadlines for the establishment of the” Government.
He said he encourages Kurti to reflect responsibly on the current situation and to demonstrate sincere will to enable the formation of new institutions so that Kosovo can have a country as soon as possible and a legitimate and functional government”. In this context, Krasniqi said that the “found by a suitable candidate or candidate, who enjoys the support of most MPs, would be an important step before”.
The VVV for Speaker of the Parliament has repeatedly proposed Albulen Haxhiun, who has just as often failed to get the 61 necessary votes, which he has been unable to make the constitution possible.
At one of the Constituent session meetings, which has been going on without success since April 15th, the LVV has cited the need for a <x0) political agreement” to elect the Speaker of the Parliament, but without making any serious efforts to achieve it.
At a “-consultative meeting” before continuing the constitutional session last week, the LVV has insisted on Albulen Hadziu's proposal.
LVV's candidate for the seventh time failed to be elected head of the Parliament, with no more than 57 votes. Last time, he even received only 54 votes.
The PDK and AAK have expressed themselves ready to consider a <x0 most acceptable” candidacy by LVV.
The LDK, meanwhile, has said that for them, “has no candidate”, LVV that would vote. /Periscopi/
