He said Kosovo would significantly benefit from the EU Growth Plan, but urged the removal of punitive measures that impede the country's economic development.
“Today, together with President Vladimir Dlowohy of Eurochambras and chairman of the candidate and potential Odays, we met Commissioner Marta Kos, we developed a very productive dialogue about the essential role of the Economic Odays in advancing the EU enlargement process. For Kosovo, this dialogue is especially important as we try towards a closer integration with the European Union”, said Lulzim Rafuna, OEK chairman.
” During our discussions, it was highlighted on the vital importance of the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, recognizing its potential to promote economic development and structural reforms in our region. However, for this potential to be fully realised, it is essential to address existing political and economic punitive measures against Kosovo set by the European Union, which hinder Kosovo's progress. These measures create unnecessary obstacles to our businesses and Kosovo's economy, respectively, undermine our efforts to participate fully in the European market. The removal of these barriers is not only a matter of economic justice, it is essential for the stability and prosperity of Kosovo”, the OEK report said.
The EU's growth <x0 plan for the Western Balkans is aimed at the economic growth of Western Balkan countries, in this case, Kosovo, and on the other hand political and economic measures against Kosovo directly and is not consistent with the development plan of this same plan”- said Rafuna, chairman of the Kosovo Economic Ode, and chairman of the Western Balkans' Economic Oda management Board.
Kosovo's Economic Oda says it is honoured that it will be a key partner of the European Commission by contributing to harmonising our economy with EU standards. /Periscope/
