A Co-ordinated operation by TSF The Kosovo Police East, in co-operation with Kosovo Customs and the Centre for Regional Investigation of Border Police, has resulted in a significant blow to smuggling networks in the municipality of the Year.
Following the acceptance of relevant operational information and authorisation of the Founding Prosecutor in Gjilan, a raid has been carried out at a private depot, where some 7.65 tonnes of motor oils, suspected of entering Kosovo illegally from northern Macedonia and of suspected origin from Iran, have been seized.
According to authorities, the overall value of seized goods totals over 25,000 euros. Products have been transported to the customs terminal, where further verification and legal treatment will be submitted.
The case is currently in the hands of the Kosovo Customs Regional Investigation Unit, DDRK East, which is working on identifying and prosecuting all persons involved in this illegal activity.
Kosovo police, in co-operation with Dogan and other state authorities, express themselves committed to combating smuggling and illegal activities, especially in border areas, where organised crime aims to exploit vulnerable spaces for illegal profits. /Periscopi/
