The renowned lawyer, Arianan Koci, has reacted with a direct message to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, through a post on the social Facebook network, naming the current political situation in the country as a full institutional “interception”.
In his post, Koci calls on Kurt to show leadership, emerge from rigid positions and take concrete steps to unblock the country's institutions, with particular emphasis on the process of electing the Parliamentary, which has failed in 17 successive attempts.
It's not a political crisis anymore. It's a total blockade. Institutions are frozen. Nobody's taking responsibility. Nobody's moving”, Koci writes.
He reminds Kurt that the party he leads, the Vetevendosje Movement, has received the most powerful mandate ever in Kosovo's political history, given the citizens' trust for change and government with discretion.
You voted because people believed in you... But expectations cannot be extended indefinitely. The results now need”, he points out.
Koci calls the current approach of Kurti “error”, inviting him to assume the role of a sweeping leader seeking dialogue, co-operation and solutions, without violating the political principle but showing the will for institutional compromise.
You're in the current approach. And the only way to get out of this blockade is to show that you're willing to become a factor of unity”, he writes, adding that “the people no longer expect excuses.
The lawyer adds that the prolonged impasse is also negatively affecting Vetevendosje's electoral support, citing a drop in confidence and discontent on the ground.
This prolonged impasse is costing you a lot on the electoral base. There's frustration. There's disappointment. There's a drop in trust. And that doesn't come back easily”, Koci warns.
Koci urges Kurt to act with courage and responsibility to get the country out of the current political stalemate./Periscopi/
