The embassy has named Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgram as victims. Two have been identified as a married couple.
The couple were shot dead as they were leaving an event in the museum shortly after 9:00 p.m. at the local time (01:00 GMT) last night. Diplomatic sources tell Reuters and AFP news agencies that Liscinksy was also a German citizen, reports BBC, broadcast Periscope.
The suspect has been detained and identified by police as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago. Police say he shouted “Free Palestine” after being taken into custody. The officers will review links to potential terrorism”.
Metropolitan Police Department chief Pamela Smith says the suspect has been seen walking up and down the museum before opening fire with a pistol on a group of four. /Periscope/
