India and Pakistan accuse each other of attacks as hostilities rise

On Friday, India and Pakistan were accused of carrying out new military attacks, using drones and artillery for the third consecutive day, in the fiercest battle between the two nuclear-gun neighbours since Kargil in 1999. The clashes began following India's attacks on several locations in Pakistan on Wednesday, which India considered the “terrorist camps” in retaliation for a deadly attack on Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir last month. Pakistan denied it was related to the attack, but the two states exchanged passing fires and artillery throwing, and sent fears and rockets into each other's airspace since then, with about four dozen victims of violence, Reuters reported.
Villagers have left the border areas in both countries, and many cities have experienced power cuts, air alarms and concerns of purchases of necessary goods. India has suspended the prestigious Indian jump tournament Premier League T20 after the break of a match Thursday and the end of the stadium's lights.
This is the worst conflict since a limited clash in the Kashmir Kargil region in 1999. India has hit cities in the main provinces of Pakistan, outside Kashmir Pakistan, for the first time since the full war they suffered in 1971. The Indian Army said on Friday that Pakistani troops had repeatedly violated the ceasefire along Kashmir's defacto border, a region that is divided between the two states, but is required fully by both.
Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar called the Indian Army's statement “without bases and fraud”, adding that Pakistan had not undertaken any “offensive action against areas within Indian Kashmir or outside the country's borders. In Kasmirin Pakistan, officials said heavy artillery attacks from the border crossing killed five civilians, including a baby, and injured 29 people in the early hours Friday.
In the Samba region of Kashmir, India's Border Security Force announced that it had <x0mmbyted a major infiltrate effort” on Thursday evening, as heavy artillery attacks continued in Ur area on Friday, according to a security source that did not want to be identified.
In the city of Amritsar, India, which has the Temple of the Saints, sirens fell for more than two hours Friday, and residents were asked to stay inside their homes. The hotel in the city dropped significantly as tourists fled the city by the way after the airport was closed.
We really wanted to stay, but the loud noises, sirens and power cuts are giving us sleepless nights. Our families are worried about us, so we've reserved a taxi and we're leaving,” said a British national who did not want to be identified.
