India said early Wednesday it had launched a military operation against Pakistan, striking “terrorist infrastructure” both in Pakistan and Pakistan-run Kashmir on a major escalation of tensions between the two neighbours.
These steps came after Pahalgam's barbar terrorist attack, in which 25 Indians were killed and a Nepalez citizen”, India's Defence Ministry said in a statement, referring to an attack on tourists in India-run Kashmir last month.
Our “Our actions have been focused, measured and unsurpassing in nature. No Pakistani military structure has been targeted. India has shown considerable restraint in selecting targets and execution method”, the statement added.
India said nine total positions were targeted.
Numerous strong explosions have been heard in Pakistan-run Kashmir, reports CNN.
Pakistan's military said three countries were hit with rockets.
“Pakistan will respond to this in a time and place that chooses” itself, Pakistani Army spokesman Ahmed Sharif Chauddry told Geo TV. This disgusting provocation will not remain unanswered.”/Periscope/
