IK KPS: Nine fruit cases recorded in Kosovo from 5 May to 13 May 2025

Kosovo's National Institute of Public Health (IKSHPK) reports that from the date 05 to May 13th 2025, in Kosovo 9 fruit cases have been reported: 4 cases from Ferizaj; 2 cases from Exhibit and from 1 case to municipalities: Lipjan, Gracanica and Fushe Kosovo. According to age groups, the reported cases are 7 cases of age 1-2 and 2 cases of 4-5.
All the cases are of unexplored children with MMR vaccines.
IK The KPS warns that it is no longer just a case of <x0 being exported”, but of cases of measles displayed within the community in Kosovo, directly due to non-examination.
IK The KPS reminds parents that Frusth is a very serious disease, 6 times more contagious than the flu, and that 1 in 5 fruit - infected persons can develop serious health complications such as ear infection, pneumonia, permanent hearing loss, brain inflammation, and death.
The most endangered measles are said to be children under the age of five.
“In order to prevent new cases and complications, I The KSHPK calls on parents to check their children's vaccine card and vaccinate them according to the regular vaccination calendar at the QKMF vaccination units of their municipality”, the IKSHPK reportedly
It is also stressed that anti-Fruth vaccine (MMR) is given in two doses: The first dosage at 12 months of age and the second dose at age 6.
This vaccine has been in use for over 60 years and is secure and effective. Scientific data has proved that 2 doses of the vaccine offer about 100% measles protection.
IK KPS reminds them of pre-school and pre-school institutions duty to implement Information Circle No. 052005 for informing parents of the mandatory vaccination of children, whose implementation will be monitored by the respective inspectors”.
