It has been marked today one of the most important events, the 26th anniversary of the liberation of the Albanian village, former Gjakova Jablanica. This has reminded us of the 43 martyrs who fell into the freedom struggle in the battles of this village and the Dukagjin area.
Homazhe and honours for the fallen have made AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj, DUI leader Ali Ahmeti, Gjakova Mayor Ardian Djindini and many other personalities.
Former commander of the Dukagjin area Ramush Haradinaj said that even in 1914 a massacre had occurred. He further told details from the battle.
I've never been without people. It's like Serbs from Jablanica. We took a ball from the enemy after we damaged their stock. We modified it and set off in battle, since we had a 20mm ball. So let the child know that we won it with a ball, but if we had larger weapons”, Haradinaj added. He said that one of the specifics was that they were attacked during the day, caught unawares.
DUI Chairman Ali Ahmeti said Jabllanica, Glogdjan and Prekazi were the three main points of the KLA. Jabllanica had been liberated by Serb forces on May 17, 1999, becoming among the first countries to expel the enemy.
As for Xhavit Jashar from the family organisation of martyrs sought institutions that respect the Kosovo Liberation Army war. /Periscope/
