Halimi: Violence is becoming part of our daily alert that requires deeper attention and institutional commitment

Sable Halimi from the Democratic League of Kosovo has reacted after the serious event that took place today in Pristina, where a 34-year-old injured his girlfriend and then killed himself. It described it as a serious alert that requires attention and institutional response. “Dhuna is no longer a tragic exception; it is becoming part [...]
“Dhuna is no longer a tragic exception; it is becoming part of our everydayity. We find it on the street, in the family, in relationships that should be based on love and understanding. It is the mirror of a deep cultural and social crisis that is hurting us all, in silence and pain,” Halimi said.
According to her, today's event in the capital is not merely an isolated case but a call not to be ignored.
It's a call that needs to be heard. An alarm that requires deeper attention and institutional commitment. Because we don't have the luxury of turning our heads aside; any delay, any neglect, costs life,” she added.
Halimi has stressed that our society is failing to provide proper education in coping with emotions, building healthy relationships, and showing respect for others.
We are growing up and living in a society that does not teach us how to cope with emotions, how to respect one another, how to build healthy relationships, and how to care for mental well - being. This lack of education is being filled with violence and our silence, we are often accomplices,”, she said.
At the end of the response, Halimi called for concrete action and general awareness.
It's not enough to feel regret after tragedy anymore. We need to talk, listen, act. Clearly, violence has no place in our lives! ”, Halimi finished.
