European Council President Antonio Costa will visit Kosovo next week, broadcasts Periscope.
This will be his first visit under a Balkan tour since taking office at the helm of the European Union.
The visit to Pristina is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14th. A day earlier, he will stay in Belgrade for a visit that comes days after the Serbian president's trip to Russia, despite Brussels' remarks concerning his participation at the Victory Day ceremony in Moscow.
European officials argue the decision not to bypass the Serbian capital with the commitment of institutions and support for all countries in the region. According to them, work and developments in the Western Balkan states are later reflected through decisions made at the EU Council.
The tour that Costa will hold in all Western Balkan states takes place on the eve of the European Political Community summit, which will be held late next week in Tirana.
The European Political Community is a pan-European initiative dating back to 2022, founded at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron. It unites over 40 leaders from European continent states and EU institutions. This forum serves to discuss Europe's common future, security issues and the protection of democracy.
