The European Union through a post on the social Facebook network has made a review of EU High Representative Kaya Kallas' visit, which she held during yesterday and today. This has also been Kalla's first visit to Kosovo, while the second to the Western Balkan region.
The meetings that Kallas has had, starting with EU office chief Aivo Ora, as well as outgoing Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and political party leaders, are highlighted in the post.
The announcement also highlights Kalla's statement of the road to Kosovo and Serbia for a secure future.
) Stability depends on dialogue, not on confrontation”, Kallas was quoted as saying.
From May 22nd to May 23, European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy High Representative Kaya Kallas visited Kosovo for the first time as part of her second visit to the Western Balkans.
In Pristina, she was hosted by EU Office Chief in Kosovo Ambassador Aivo Ora. During a press conference, Kallas stressed the strategic importance of the Western Balkans for the EU, underlining that normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is the only way towards a safer and prosperous future for the people of this region. “Stability depends on dialogue, not on confrontation”, she said.
During this two-day visit, the High Representative held constructive talks with outgoing Prime Minister and leaders of the main political parties in Kosovo. Ms. Callas also met and listened to representatives of civil society.
It was also hosted by KFOR Commander Major General Enrico Bardonini.
On the second day of the visit, she was hosted by EULEX Mission Chief Giovanni Pietro Barbano, at the EULEX Centre in Mitrovica.
To complete the visit, Kallas visited the Constitutional Court of Mitrovica and met with representatives from the education sector.
