According to the European Union spokesman, recent police operations are at risk of escalating tensions and negatively affecting communities' daily lives, as well as damaging Kosovo's international image.
“We are particularly concerned about operations against the company “Vodov Ibar” in northern Mitrovica, as well as the water supply facility and public service company in Zubin Potok, which provide basic services for communities living in the northern part of Kosovo”.
Uncoordinated unilateral and uncoordinated actions undermine confidence-building efforts between communities”, said in response.
On the other hand, the EU said they call on outgoing Prime Minister Albin Kurti to stop these closures, show restraint and avoid escalation measures.
“Call on both sides -- Kosovo and Serbia -- to engage constructively in the EU facilitated dialogue for implementation of the Agreement on the road to normalisation and implementation Anex, as well as other agreements reached in the framework of EU facilitated dialogue, without further delays or preconditions”.
This includes establishing the Association of Serb-run municipalities. The normalisation of relations is an essential condition for the European path of both sides”, said in response.
