Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha has held another press conference this Tuesday, where he continued to contest the May 11th election process, which he named as an electoral <x0farce”.
These were not choices, this was a shameful electoral farce, the most embarrassing in 32 years of pluralism. On May 11th, a calamity occurred for Albanian democracy”, Berisha declared before the media, reports EuroNews.al, broadcast Periscope.
Berisha accused state institutions and SPAK of failing to act and silence in the face, as he put it, “criminal acts of gangs related to power”.
He sharply criticised the institutions of justice, stressing that opposition leaders have faced political pressure and bans motivated by political interests.
“You learned how the administration acted during this process, how it closed its mouth, how it served as a party slander, how Duman's SPAK silenced dozens of indictments before the worst criminal activity of gangs. You learned how the justice system was used to imprison leaders of the three main opposition parties and receive additional commands”, Berisha said.
Comparing the situation to authoritarian regimes, Berisha said that <x0 selector” had not been imagined in Albania in 2025. /Periscope
