Free defence refusal for KLA leaders in The Hague, Gruda PDK: Human Rights Breakup

The Judicial Chamber in the “Thaci case and others” have rejected Kadri Veselini's provisional release requirements, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi. To this decision, today the Democratic Party of Kosovo has held a press conference expressing concern over this decision that violates the freedom of rights of the accused. Progress Gruda has said [...]
Gruda's progress has said that maintaining Wessel, Thaci and others for more than four and a half years “constitutes violations of justice standards”.
Among other things, he declared:
“Specialised Chambers in The Hague have rejected the request for freedom protection for Veselin, Krasniqi and Selimi, why the prosecution has completed the evidence at the end of April.
PDK voices concern over this decision violating freedom of rights accused
Keeping Mr. Wessel and others for more than four and a half years are violations of Western standards of justice that we have hoped would abide by.
This under the circumstances when the beginning of the Haga Judgment has dragged two years into the pre-procedure phase and only two years later has the indictment confirmed.
The PDK has supported from the start the unhindered functioning of the Court. With full conviction that this court will ensure the right to fair judgment and reasonable times.
For our assessment, a court in the heart of Europe would never have to turn into persecution.
Let's say it clearly: Thaci, Velseli, Kresanqi and Selimi are the leaders of war, the Arctic of independence and construction of Kosovo institutions. Therefore, we seek a fair trial based on a democratic judgment of Western countries.
The PDK calls on special chambers, international factors to act with responsibility and respect for human rights.
We express indignation over lack of funding supply to leaders”
“We are convinced that the process at The Hague and its epilogue are not individual issues, but issues of fundamental importance to our country's history and future. The failure of our institutions is not simply a negligence, but absorption of historical responsibility”, Gruda said.
