The “Working Union” of the regional waste company, “Cleaning” has announced that it will organise protests on May 19 ( Monday), at 10:00, in front of the Pristina municipality's facility, in response to the lack of institutional response to a series of concerns related to the treatment of public company and its workers.
The union's official announcement says the protest is necessary due to the Communist's failure to respond to the request filed 15 May.
The union's main demands and concerns include, according to their announcement: payment discrimination, employment uncertainty, lack of transparency, lack of labour means, lack of transparency for contracts and concerns for favouring private companies against the capacity and long experience of the KR “Cleaning”.
The union stresses that “policymaking and institutional confrontations are costing workers with uncertainty and job loss potential”.
In protest, workers aim to seek equal treatment for the public company, security and dignity at work for workers, transparency and law enforcement by the municipality, publicisation of contracts and decisions affecting the company's halting harmful political and institutional approaches to workers.
The protest will be peaceful and aims to promote institutional responsibility, is highlighted at the end of the announcement. /Periscope/
